Maria Cristina Gino Baroso
Works in the Department of Education as Project Development Officer IV since July 2016. Currently, her key responsibilities include development, supervision, and implementation of special programs and projects of the regional office to provide support to the holistic development of learners (non-curricular*) and provide technical assistance to Schools Division to help schools establish a conducive learning environment and ensure learner overall readiness to learn.
Previously connected with the Spanish International Development Cooperation – Fundacion Educacion Y Cooperacion – Educo for more than 10 years (2005-June 2016) as Education Program Coordinator/Education Project Coordinator serving poor communities and schools in Bicol Region. While in Educo, her major areas of work include teacher training, material and infrastructure provision and partnerships with concerned national agencies, INGOs and other education stakeholders. Major programs include Reading, Mother Tongue Based Multilingual Education, provision of essential learning and teaching materials and school physical facilities improvement.
She also served as the Program Director of a one-hour Sunday Radio Program, “Radyo Pambata” aired over local radios in Sorsogon, and managed by talented children from 1998 to 2004.
An sponsored child of Christian Children’s Fund (CCF) from 1994 to 2004, who received education allowance, training and other child development activities. Grateful to Margaretha Rolfson, her Swedish sponsor for those years of support. Paying back her sponsor means becoming a productive citizen and doing good to others.
Her hobbies include writing/journal making, baking, traveling, tree planting and farming.
